Operation Phau-Manyetse roars into life

The Prime Minister Moeketsi Majoro says it is high time ministers restored the hope that the people have lost in the government.

Majoro said when officially launching Operation Phau-Manyetse at Ha-Jimisi yesterday.

Named in memory of the late famo singer, Phau-Manyetse, this operation is a government initiative to reconstruct all roads and bridges that were damaged by the recent heavy rains.

A total of M176million has been allocated to the ministry of public works and ministry of local government and chieftancy, to fix footbridges, roads and vehicle bridges damaged by the torrents.

Ha Jimisi resident, ‘Maphakiso Namane, expressed her gratitude to the government for looking out for the community by fixing the local bridge and easing movement.

“We can only hope that the bridge is completed speedily so we don’t get marooned if the downpours catch us by surprise again,” she said.
