New police post for Thaba-Phatṧoa

By Kefiloe Kajane

The Prime Minister Moeketsi Majoro on Friday officiated the sod tuning ceremony to mark construction of a new police station at Thaba Phatṧoa in Leribe.

The police station is estimated to cost M50million, of which 60 percent will be forked out by government while Bishop David Ramela will contribute 40 percent.

Majoro said the presence of a police station in Thaba Phatṧoa will be a necessary intervention against the scourge of crime that has dogged the community for a long time.

He expressed hope that the community will now enjoy some peace of mind, knowing there is a police post in the midst.

“This police station will serve 25 villages. I want the contractor who will be awarded this job to work with community leaders and involve the people from around here by giving them jobs. I hope the community of Thaba Phatṧoa will look after this police station as it is now your property,” Majoro said.
