Covid vaccination resumes

By Kefiloe Kajane

Media practitioners and health workers who were vaccinated in May are due to receive the second dose of the AstraZenecca vaccine from Monday.

This was announced by the National Covid-19 Secretariat (NACOSEC) last week.

Also earmarked for the second jab are people with chronic ailments such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, asthma, cancer, HIV stage 3 and 4, and those on TB treatment.

This comes after Lesotho received the second consignment of COVID-19 vaccines through the COVAX Facility in June.

This shipment of 36 000 doses of AstraZeneca is part of a donation from the Republic of France through the COVAX facility.

The minister of health, Semano Sekatle, expressed gratitude to the Republic of France, saying this gesture strengthens the mutual relations between France and Lesotho.
