EU to launch three programmes

By Neo Kolane

Lesotho and the European Union (EU) will tomorrow launch three new cooperation programmes to support renewable energy, social protection, and inclusive governance in the country.

The programmes; Renewable Lesotho, Equitable Lesotho and Support Measures, are under the framework of the Global Gateway, the European strategy to boost smart and secure links in digital, energy and transport sectors and to strengthen health, education and research systems across the world.

Theannual session of the Lesotho-EU dialogue will be held after the signing ceremony. The engagement is an opportunity to take stock of the status of the Lesotho-EU partnership and to discuss issues of mutual interest. The events are part of the Delegation’s #EuropeMonth celebrations to commemorate Europe Day, which is held every year and celebrates peace and unity in Europe, the EU said in a statement.
