Corporate challenge a big success

Data Deal Company last week came out tops in the Corporate Challenge, an annual team building event hosted by Black Mix, which is intended to promote a healthy lifestyle among corporates, boost company staff morale and improve communication among employees.

Black Mix Lesotho Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Manisha Black said corporate challenge is an obstacle challenge course which brought together different corporates and organisations to participate in various activities.

The competition was between teams made up of strictly five participants with no limitation to the number of teams per company or organization she further stated. It is basically a day intended to promote a healthy lifestyle and business networking platform for different companies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

To make the event more interesting this year, Black said they had added new and improved games and challenges.

“What we do as Black Mix is avoid repeating the same event as the previous one and we also make sure that there is a twist to our events. We always want to be the first in the market to bring new obstacles and competitive stuff.

“We strive to ensure that when introducing something new to Lesotho, people have the desire to work with them. The aim is to see Corporate Challenge grow bigger in Lesotho to a point where businesses, organisations and small businesses with less than five members participate. We are pushing very hard to ensure that this happens by next year.”

Metropolitan Lesotho head of brand and marketing, Tšokolo Makeka says the insurance company has sponsored the event since its commencement.

“Corporate challenge is about health and wellness, team building, a day out of the office and having fun. It also boosts business networking as people from different companies come together and get to know one another,” he noted.

Makeka added that the event celebrates and highlights the importance of good health since in corporate spaces, people work in offices where they sit for long hours a day working, with most of them unable to exercise. He said this is an opportunity that creates a different environment for employees to engage.
