Vuyani’s dreams come true

By Neo Kolane

Twenty-one-year old Vuyani Lefoka on Wednesday last week walked away with three crowns; Miss personality, Best international model and first princess at the Miss World Diversity pageant.

Miss World Diversity pageant is a world pageant for Mrs, Ms, Miss Teens and kids which promotes culture diversity of the nations.

Vuyani who hails from Taung in the Mohales’ Hoek district said she fell in love with modelling from when she was young and watched people on the runway on TV.

Speaking with theReporter Vuyani said she heard about the pageantry in 2019 on radio and she revealed that she loves being seen and her presence being felt, She is glad she did a great job.

She applied and participated and received the first princess crown.

Vuyani says that in every pageant when the queen is unavailable she gets replaced by the first princess and for Miss Diversity Lesotho, the queen was not available and Vuyani being the first princess had to take her place.

She had to go represent the country internationally in South Africa, India, Nepal, Namibia, Uganda, Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia.

“The pageantry had to take place in Dubai in 2020 but due to COVID-19 it was postponed and it took place last week online.,” she remembered.

After the 2019 Miss World Diversity, Vuyani however registered with Sothokids culture agency in February last year to do both fashion pageants and modelling.

“Ever since Miss World Diversity, I entered Zanzibar pageants called Miss Universe Diversity where I walked away with the second princess crown in December 2019,” she said.

Vuyani is known for being ambassador of brands like Cograbig and Future leaders.

She revealed that being pageant is costly and she does not want to depend on her parents.

Vuyani once wrote: “I have always been passionate about being a runway model, having made it to the platform as big as Lesotho Fashion Week will grant me the fullest potential into being an international model.”

And her dreams came true when she climbed the ladder to lead the way.
