Sky Alpha HD hosted the National Health Training College (NHTC) edition of the Digital Innovators Summit 2026 yesterday under the theme: ‘Digital Health Innovation: Transforming healthcare delivery, access and patient outcomes of Lesotho’.
The conference comes as Lesotho’s health sector continues to require stronger capacity innovation to improve health outcomes across community.
In her remarks, the director of administration at NHTC Letta Matsumunyane, noted that healthcare is rapidly changing, from electronic health records to artificial intelligence, digital learning, mobile health applications and data driven systems.
Matsumunyane said technology provides the college with opportunities to make health care more accessible, efficient, responsive and patient centered.
“As a health training institution, NHTC is responsible for preparing our health professionals, not only to provide excellent healthcare, but also to embrace and use technology responsibly to improve the health of our communities,” she explained.
Founder of Sky Alpha HD and convenor of the Digital Innovators Summit, Tello Leballo, said the seeds of the summit were planted during his participation in the 2023 International Visitor Leadership Programme in the United States.
Leballo said it was an eye-opening experience where he witnessed how AI and digital ecosystems are shaping national agendas, from combating disinformation to improving public services.
“I was therefore determined to contexualise those insights and create a platform that would bring AI and digital literacy closer to our own communities,” he stated.
Leballo said that vision materialised in 2024 through the inaugural series of Digital Innovators Summits, which served as the foundation of what is now a growing national and regional initiative.
