The Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) has engaged private audit firms to strengthen collaboration and improve the delivery of services to the institution.
The engagement, held yesterday under the theme “Enhancing Collaboration in Pursuit of Accountability and Transparency,” brought together the OAG, private audit firms and the Lesotho Institute of Accountants (LIA).
Discussions centred on the proposed approach to audit engagements, the proposed audit fee structure, the performance of comprehensive audits and the implementation of the next framework agreement with interested private audit firms.
The meeting also provided a platform for participating firms to share their views, feedback and recommendations on the proposed arrangements.
The LIA delivered a presentation on the licensing and regulatory requirements for audit firms, contributing professional and regulatory perspectives to the discussions.
The engagement forms part of the OAG’s efforts to strengthen stakeholder collaboration and enhance audit service delivery, with a focus on promoting accountability and transparency in the public sector.
