LTTU tackles Covid-19

By Teboho Serutla

The Lesotho Teachers Trade Union (LTTU) yesterday embarked on a project to empower teachers to protect themselves from COVID-19, and share strategic ways of improving this initiative.

The secretary general of LTTU, ‘Mapitso Molai, says Qacha’s Nek is the ninth district they have visited since the commencement of the project.

Molai says they are disseminating information about policies that teachers have and continue to discuss collectively regarding protection of both teachers and students from the wrath of COVID-19 in their working environment.

They are also teaching them about the importance of COVID-19 vaccinations in the face of widespread information and misinformation on the internet and other media platforms, which only create confusion among the ordinary people.

The project is dedicated to occupational development of teachers in a safe environment through the ‘standard operating procedures’ and some strategic ways of improving this project. The last district in line to be to be visited is Thaba Tseka.
