Comedian to tour districts

By Neo Kolane

Much-loved local comedian who is better known by his alias, Skaftin, is planning to make a good come back after lockdown regulations were eased.

Born Jeremiah Lebesa in Butha-Buthe district, the comedian is set to make a show in Qhanolla, a hotel establishment in the district on May 1.

The show will emerge as a start-up to a spree of tours to be held in other districts in what he labels as ‘From Home, Nearby and Everywhere’

In an interview with theReporter, Skaftin explained that he is popular in Maseru and upbeat to hold several shows in other districts, beginning in his home town of Butha-Buthe.

Skaftin emphasized that usually “people think that when an individual is famous in Maseru, they are famous around the whole country” saying he wants to spread his wings around the country.

He revealed the team behind the shows are Nkopane with the visuals, Da Starr with the music and Morebane Ramonotsi with the venue.  At these tours, Masapo will also be performing while Ngaka Mokobane will be behind the logistics with Quinn being the master of ceremonies.

It is expected that music performances from Marcx Brass and Lets Chill will also feature at the shows.

Skaftin started comedy in 2013 and has performed at weddings and other social events which raised up his stature.

For those who cannot make it to Qhanolla, the show will be available on SkyAlpha radio.

Known for claiming that he is ugly, he has collaborated with other highly regarded artists.

He has performed in Botswana and shared the stage with comedians such as Slick the Dick from Namibia, Long John from Zimbabwe and AK Dans from South Sudan as well as Brooks from Botswana.
