Man kills lover, hands himself in

By Teboho Serutla

A 46-year old man of Makhoaneng, Leribe, who resides at Ha Ramokhele in Mafeteng handed himself to the police on July 30, on suspicion of killing a woman who is aged between 35 and 40.

On July 29 the man and the woman, who were lovers, were drinking together at a watering hole in the village. When it was time to retire, the man began assaulting a woman with a sjambok accusing her of being stubborn because she did not want to go.

Upon arrival at his home the man continued to assault the woman. He handed himself in the following morning, claiming he had woken up to find the woman dead.

The police have launched investigations. The man will appear before court once the investigations are complete.
