Normal rain expected in the country

The ministry of energy and meteorology has said that the climate outlook for Lesotho for August 2021 to March 2022 is expected to receive normal to below normal rains for the period August to September 2021.

The statement from the ministry of energy and meteorology stated that there is a likelihood of normal to above normal rains countrywide during October 2021 to March 2022.

“However, dry episodes are still anticipated between the good rains. Normal temperatures are anticipated for the period August 2021 to March 2022 with high chances of rising above average.

“Occurrences of strong winds, lightning, severe thunderstorms, flash floods and hailstorms, are common weather phenomena in summer.

“There is a likelihood of neutral to weak enhanced precipitation conditions during November 2021 to January 2022. Normal to above normal rainfall is expected countrywide during the period October 2021 to March 2022 with normal to above normal temperatures,” the statement said.
