Murder, sexual offences are common offences

By Kefiloe Kajane

The Lesotho Correctional Services (LCS) has announced in its weekly report that it has this week admitted 36 inmates, predominantly male.

The report says were no juvenile inmates among those admitted. It adds that 34 male and female inmates were released from all correctional services across the country.

It further revealed that most of the released inmates were released by the courts as they had paid bail.

“The most common offences of the inmates admitted are murder, sexual offences and theft.

“Meanwhile, all correctional services officers will undergo vaccination as the rollout reaches out to the security sector.

“This after the minister of health Semano Sekatle earlier this month explained that the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be received by the security sector, teachers and students.”
