Young man follows his dream

By Kefiloe Kajane

Lehlohonolo Sello, a young man from Maseru, fulfilled his childhood dream of becoming a business owner by founding Bike Errands, a company that delivers goods for companies and individuals.

Bike Errands focuses on delivering goods for companies such as documents, food, and clothes using bicycles. The company also caters for individuals who are not delivering heavy goods.

Sello told theReporter that from a young age, he knew that he wanted to own a business so that he could create jobs for some unemployed persons. He said the idea of starting a delivery company came to him when he realised how fuel prices were increasing. He thought that through his initiative companies and people would save money.

He remembered that he was motivated to start Bike Errands when he saw that unemployment was spiraling among the youth.

“With that in mind, I always make sure that I hire young people. I hire from 18 years to 30 years, not anyone older than that. This company started very small, it was only four employees when it started but now there is many of us.

“The company focuses mostly on delivering goods for companies. But we also deliver for individuals. The support of companies has been really amazing and because we are getting many orders,” he said.

He explained that he got an inspiration from a South African delivery company Uber Eats. He stole the idea and brought it into life in the kingdom.

Sello further explained that when he finished his high school, he knew that he was not interested in furthering his studies but to start his business.

He indicated that seeing the success of his company, he would encourage other young people to follow up on their dreams.

“I would like to see this business grow so that we can deliver in other districts as well because we are currently only based in Maseru. I would like it to help young people especially in high school so that we can hire them during holidays. I want to have something that can keep them busy during holidays while they are also making money,” he said.

Bike Erands can be found on the number +266 692 4443.
