Union’s plead MoET minister

By Neo Kolane

The Lesotho Teachers’ Trade Union (LTTU) is unsatisfied with the ministry of education and training over its handling of teachers’ plea, the closure of Moshoeshoe II High School and compulsory vaccination.

In a statement on Friday, the union says it is aware of the closure of Moshoeshoe 2 High in the wake of a speech by the minister of education and training.

The union says it is concerned about this situation because the schoil’s teachers have not been told what to do in the meantime while the buildings are being fixed.

“Another issue is, when minister ‘Mamookho Phiri addressed the nation, she only spoke of how the school is in a quagmire because the buildings are not in a condition fit to be taught in.

“She did not say anything about the buildings but only of the behaviour of the teachers and the incompetence of the principal to run the school,” the statement read.
