Diva scores Nollywood gig

By Seleoe Nonyane

One of Lesotho’s most loved actresses is soon to fly to the capital city of Nigeria, Lagos, where she will star in a film series called TENANTS.

‘Malisema Motelle, who goes by the stage name Diva, will jet out on March 30 this year.

TENANTS is a Pan African Series Original movement that aims to encourage and strengthen bonds of solidarity between all indigenous and ethnic groups of African descent.

TENANTS will be directed by Rawlings David Erara who is a film director. The series is produced by one of the biggest United Kingdom’s producers Daniel Ndlara Robson, a British actor and producer.

Diva’s visit to Nigeria will be the second following her planned go-hosting of a show organised in that country in 2020. Unfortunately, the show flopped due to the dawn of Covid-19.

Following the cancelation of the show, she then took a leap of faith and decided to audition to take part in the up-coming March series and she was selected.

The 24-year old Diva told theReporter Wednesday she could not believe her ears upon hearing of the good news of her role in the series after taking part in the auditions.

She is now over the moon over her selection as she is heading to learn more about the industry.

“It is exciting because I will be working with one of the biggest producers from the United Kingdom and director David Rawlings. I am also looking forward to meeting the crew and the cast to create everlasting connections that will be of great use in the future,” Diva said.

Diva has always aspired to be an actress from her youth days but could hardly make it through. Her big day came in 2020 when she featured in the Lesotho Television advertisements.

The following year was a windfall to her as she made an appearance in a drama series Bophelo on Lesotho Television. She played the character of Landlord.

Currently, she works at SkyAlpha as a radio presenter while she is also involved in freelancing as a master of ceremonies.

“My biggest contribution was being the first plus size model to be signed to Tgee Modeling Agency and that made young girls and people to believe in their bodies regardless of how big they are,” Diva remarked.
