‘Mantšali Phakoana

The National University of Lesotho (NUL) management today suspended lectures until further notice after students went on a protest demanding their allowances, among others.

In a statement, NUL registrar Maqalika Lerotholi said the university management decided to suspend classes owing to the ‘illegal’ strike.

“Staff and students of the university are hereby notified that following a staged protest this morning, without any notice to the management, that led to the destruction of property, lectures are suspended with immediate effect and students are directed to vacate the Roma campus by 13:00hrs,” it read.

Lerotholi noted that students would be notified on when to return to campus for lectures to resume.
