Lesotho Funeral Services launches new branch

By Mateliso Phulane

Lesotho Funeral Services (LFS) has opened a new branch in Mafeteng.

The company said the development is part of a rebuilding process aimed at availing mortuary and decent burial services to as many people as possible.

LFS is a private mortuary and funeral services company founded in 1969. It aims to deliver quality funeral services and products.

The new parlour started operating on Thursday last week with 10 employees, a day after it was officially opened.

The M2 million facility includes mortuary services, a postmortem room, showroom and customer services.

Apart from that, administrative equipment cost M1.8 million while M1.3 million went towards mortuary equipment.

In an interview with theReporter, LFS managing director ‘Maliteboho Mohlakoana explained that they resolved to restructure and rebuild the company and make it more responsive and sensitive to the needs of the people it serves.

“For the sake of Basotho who have supported us over the years, it is only befitting to revamp our company.

“Basotho have shown us nothing but love, so it is high time we heed their needs as well,” Mohlakoana stated.

She further revealed the company’s plans to strengthen its marketing strategy such that it reaches out to all age groups and changes the mindset of young people to encourage them to take issues related to funerals more seriously.

“We are a company that invests in our property, hence our plan to work on maintaining all our properties in the country.

“After 54 years of providing professional funeral services to Basotho we are excited about this new branch,” Mohlakoana said.

At the same event, LFS gave out pairs of shoes and socks to selected learners from St John’s Primary School, Mafeteng High School and St Gerald’s School.

The company also paid a full year’s school fees for vulnerable children at Mafeteng High School, St John’s High School and Bereng High School.
