New board for MCA

‘Mantšali Phakoana

The Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Dr Retšelisitsoe Matlanyane, has introduced the newly-appointed Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) Compact II.

The new CEO, ‘Mannana Phalatse, will lead the implementation of the second compact.

The board’s mandate is to ensure efficient implementation of Compact II within the five-year timeframe set by the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).

The MCA-Lesotho II Authority, established by parliamentary legislation, is responsible for implementing a US$322 million Compact to drive economic growth and reduce poverty in Lesotho as outlined in the Millennium Challenge Compact signed on May 12, 2022.

The board of directors comprises chairperson Maleshoane Lekolomola Dangizer, Selebalo Moeketsi, ‘Matšoanelo Monyobi, Moshe Mosaase, Lisema Lekhooana, and ‘Makhoabane Lelimo.

‘Mabataung Khalane, ‘Matau Futho Letsatsi, Pokello Mahlomola, Makhele Sekati, Lesenyeho Nkopane, Bongiwe Busi, Veronica Sekhibane, Makama Masitha and ‘Mathabo Tsepa are also part of the board.
