DMA assists vulnerable families

‘Mantšali Phakoana

The Disaster Management Authority (DMA) will tomorrow launch a re-roofing and construction project for vulnerable households badly affected by heavy rains and strong winds countrywideearlier this year.

The project will be launched by prime minister Sam Matekane in Rothe Community Council in Maseru.

According to a press statement, DMA has identified 51 vulnerable households to benefit from the programme.

“As a call to respond to this calamity, the DMA has identified households that were severely affected. We’ll start with 12 households in Rothe, four at Tṧenekeng, three at Ha Seng, two at Ha Joele, eight at Setibing Ha Sempe and one at Ha Leloko in the Maseru district.

“We’ll also cover 10 households in the Mafeteng district and an additional 13 in Thaba-Tseka. This is just the beginning of assisting households that were affected by the strong winds and heavy rains,” DMA said.
