SBL urges customers to claim funds

By Matṧeliso Phulane

Standard Lesotho Bank (SBL) has urged its clients to come forward and claim funds in their accounts which have been inactive for the past five years.

The bank said customers should visit its website to check whether their names appear under the unclaimed funds list.

This is in accordance with section 65(6) of the Financial Institution Act of 2012, SBL said in a statement.

The customers should bring along the following documents to a branch near them to claim their funds: A valid identification card or passport, and proof of residence no older than three months, for example: a utility bill or a letter from their chief.

“In the case of businesses or entities, the customers should bring proof of where the business operates from, such as a sub-lease or chief’s letter,” the statement noted.
