Are you ready to dress to kill and win big?
Newly opened lounge LA Minezi has introduced a best dresser competition to be held twice a month, starting tomorrow, and all you have to do is dress comfortably for a photo shoot.
Situated at Stadium Area in Maseru, LA Minezi is a lounge that offers food, drinks and entertainment such as birthday celebrations and other events. It opened its doors for the first time on February 17, 2024.
In an interview with theReporter this week, bar attendant and assistant manager Tšitso ‘Mote said the aim of the competition is just to make their name (LA Minezi) known through such events.
“Through the event the aim is to alert people to know that there is place called LA Minezi in Maseru. We have been planning this event since we opened and now that everything has fallen into place, it is all systems go.
“The focus was not even about fashion per se, but the idea just crossed the mind of my boss who suggested that we should do any event just to promote our name for the people to know that it’s the place that exists,” ‘Mote noted.
“The event is dress to get paid, you can dress any how you want, formal or casual. The pre-event starts today while the main event takes place tomorrow.
“That is when the photographer will take pictures of the competitors at LA Minezi. The pictures will be uploaded on our Facebook page for voters to decide on who is the winner. On Sunday at 2pm the winner will be announced and invited to collect their prize at 4pm.
“The first prize winner stands a chance to win M 3500 while the first and second runners-up will get M1000 and M500, respectively,” he pointed out.
‘Mote stated that anyone can enter the competition regardless of their age or gender, as long as they are 18 years and above. Entry is free.
He enthused that they have so far not encountered any incidents since the diner opened, despite being located in an area notorious for petty crimes.
He added that they are willing to host different events at least twice a month, and they are still making arrangement for another one called ‘The Best Photographer’.
‘Mote also urged people not to try to imitate or compete with anyone, rather they should feel comfortable and at ease in what suits them.
