Makha promises to turn a new leaf

Likoena midfielder Tumelo Makha has promised his supporters to expect a changed person, who is representing Lesotho and aiming to revive his career at South Africa’s Black Leopards Football Club.

Makha signed a two-year contract with the second-tier Motsepe Foundation Championship side this month.

The Motsepe Foundation Championship (National First Division) is the second-highest league of South African club football after the Betway Premiership (Premier Soccer League). Both the Motsepe Foundation Championship and Betway Premiership are organised by the National Soccer League (NSL).

Makha told theReporter in an interview this week: “To all my supporters, Tumelo Makha has made mistakes and as a person I promise that in my football career and talent God gave me I will not do the same mistakes again.

“But in football there are challenges that sometimes bring frustrations, but those mistakes will never happen again in my life. Therefore, I want to make a promise to them that they are going to see a different Makha representing Lesotho as a country, who aims to see progress in my career after this two-year contract,” Makha said.

Makha’s journey with local teams Lioli and Bantu did not end well and many people had thought his career was dying.

This is not the first time Makha is playing in South Africa; he first played for Tshakhuma Tsa Madzivhadila (TTM) Football Club between 2021-2022 season which he said was a privilege for him.

However, Makha was forced to come back home following a financial stand-off with the club.
