Pageant to empower young beauties

‘Mabotle Lesotho is set to host an inclusive beauty pageant aimed at empowering participants of all ages, fostering confidence and community engagement.

The competition will be held at a local hotel on December 29, 2024.

In an interview with theReporter, ‘Mabotle founder Liteboho Makoetja said they are preparing to launch a beauty pageant for participants of all age groups.

Makoetja said the initiative, designed to empower young women and instill confidence, aims to create a platform where beauty is celebrated alongside talent, intelligence, and social awareness.

The completion will take place in December and the anticipation is already building.

“The beauty pageant scene has always been about more than just looks; it’s a unique opportunity for participants to showcase their talents, engage in community service, and advocate for meaningful social issues.

“By including young beauty queens in the mix, the event hopes to promote personal development and help participants value their unique qualities. The focus will be on building self-esteem and public speaking skills, essential tools for any young woman looking to make her mark in the world.

“One of the cornerstones of this pageant is the emphasis on local community involvement. The finalists will be supported through a voting system, allowing the community to play an active role in the process,” she noted.

Makoetja indicated that the audience will have a chance to enjoy performances by local artists and witness an appearance by an international beauty queen, who will add glamour to the occasion.

She added, though, that organisers of the event are currently seeking sponsors to help elevate the competition and ensure its success.

“The vision is clear: to create a nurturing environment where young girls can participate wholeheartedly in beauty pageants and advocate for their views, fostering a culture of positive change.

“Interested models are encouraged to apply by reaching out via WhatsApp at 57568835 to obtain application forms or to call the office for more information. This initiative promises to be a transformative experience, equipping participants with the confidence and skills necessary to step into the limelight and pursue their dreams.

The ‘Mabotle Lesotho beauty pageant is not just a competition; it’s a movement towards empowerment and confidence-building among young women.

As the public awaits further details, one thing is certain: this event will inspire many and pave the way for future generations of beauty queens who are ready to shine and make a difference, Makoetja conculded.
