Bootcamp encourages youth financial literacy

Visionary Mentors in partnership with insurance company Liberty Life Lesotho held a boot camp dubbed‘Future Visionaries Financial Fitness Bootcamp’ in Berea on Saturday.

Visionary Mentors is a local financial consultant company that provides personal financial mentorship and education, money management, and business mentorship.

The event was designed to empower young minds with the tools and knowledge to navigate the world of finance confidently while fostering a culture of informed financial decision-making.

Held under the theme ‘Financial Literacy for a Secure Future,’ the day featured engaging activities, including: interactive financial literacy programmes, fun budgeting and saving games as well as inspirational talks for children ages six to 18.

The bootcamp represents Liberty’s commitment to securing families’ financial futures and empowering the youth of Lesotho with essential life and financial management skills.

It was also an excellent opportunity to capture impactful stories of growth, empowerment, and partnership.

In an interview with theReporter, Visionary Mentors’ financial coach, Nchakha Monyane, said the partnership with Liberty aligns with their financial educational mandate hence approaching them for financial sponsorship.

Monyane said their aim was to make the bootcamp fun with activities so that the young participants could concentrate and understand financial issues better.

“We plan to host this bootcamp twice a year, therefore we will make follow-ups and monitor them(participants) to gauge what they have learned.

“Children learn from parents on how they manage their finances; we teach them how to spend, save, and how to budget the money and invest,” he noted.
