Nthabiseng Makebe inspires change

Self-help expert, life coach and motivational speaker Nthabiseng Makebe is set to host her second annual ‘Women Empowerment’ event in Maseru on April 5.

A seasoned educator, Makebe holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the National University of Lesotho and has undertaken various courses in Curriculum Development and Educational Leadership. With over a decade of experience in education, she is committed to fostering positive change in women’s lives.

Makepe defines women empowerment as embracing soft feminine power while taking full ownership of one’s life. To her, it is a holistic transformation – spiritually, emotionally, financially, and in self-care – enabling women to propel themselves forward rather than waiting for external support.

Through her initiative, she aims to provide workshops and mentorship opportunities that equip women with the necessary tools to thrive in both their personal and professional lives.

“I started Expressions after realising the scarcity of available mentors. This platform offers women the guidance I wish I had earlier in life. Many critical topics have long been considered off-limits due to cultural constraints,” Makepe explained.

Speaking to theReporter, she expressed confidence that attendees would leave the event spiritually fulfilled, equipped with financial and career-enhancing tools, and emotionally uplifted through live music and empowering conversations.

The event will cover a range of topics, including mind-set and personal growth, finances, career development, beauty, self-care, feminine energy, faith, and spirituality.

“At Expressions, we focus on real-life applications and actionable steps tailored to our unique context. The event will feature discussions with guest speakers, a Q&A session, and self-care tips.

“As women, we recognize that while transformation starts from within, the fastest way to level up is through self-care,” she elaborated.

Makepe envisions this event as the premier women empowerment gathering in Lesotho, attracting trailblazers from both the country and beyond.

In conclusion, she emphasized that this initiative is more than just a celebration of women – it is a platform for their voices to be heard and their stories to inspire change. She underscored the importance of fostering a supportive community where women from diverse backgrounds can connect, share their experiences, and empower one another.
