Artist launches soulful gospel music brand

Gospel artist Bokang Sekaleli has officially stepped into the spotlight with the launch of his own music brand.

BKay’s Musical Brand is a platform that promises soul-stirring gospel infused with jazz and healing energy.

Known affectionately as “Bkay” by friends and loved ones, Sekaleli added the title “Mr.” to give the name a warm yet professional feel, rooted in both personal history and emotional meaning.

“The name reminds me of the people who keep me grounded and pour the right energy into my life,” he shared.

Having spent years behind the scenes at gospel events, Sekaleli says he is now embracing centre stage.

“When I decided to take the microphone, I knew I had to be intentional, loud, and clear about this new chapter,” he noted.

His new brand enters a rich but unsaturated space in gospel music.

“Every artist speaks to a specific soulful need. That’s where Mr BKay will be a game-changer,” he explained.

Currently in what he calls his “healing season”, Sekaleli says his music will reflect this phase with soothing gospel sounds layered with jazz and soul. His goal? To bring comfort and healing to those going through silent struggles.

Listeners can expect new music, with several songs already written and ready, but Sekaleli is in no rush. “It’s not just about releasing songs. It’s about sharing the right message at the right time,” he pointed out.

Mr BKay indicated that he will use both traditional and digital platforms for distribution, supported by a creative communication strategy designed to keep fans engaged.

Though this is his first time handling a project of this scale, Sekaleli says the experience has been deeply educational — teaching him about budgeting, time management, and working with industry professionals.

“Mr BKay brings a spiritual gentleness to the industry — a sound that uplifts, touches, and heals,” he told theReporter in an interview.

The brand’s launch theme, ‘The Emergence’, symbolises personal and spiritual awakening.

“As I shared at the launch, my prayer is that we all discover our own emergence — and remain rooted in it,” he added.
