LSI raises awareness on agric standards

The Lesotho Standards Institute (LSI) in association with the African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO) will hold a two-day awareness raising session, from tomorrow in Maseru.

ARSO is an intergovernmental organisation established in 1977 to promote the adoption of African standards as a basis for national regulations, and preventing technical barriers to intra- African and international trade.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Business Development, the objective of the event is to conduct a joint awareness session with the Department on Quality, Metrology and Technical Regulation.

It aims to inform stakeholders about the benefits of using harmonised standards as tools for improving productivity in terms of quality and safety.
