The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Business Development will tomorrow hold a one-day workshop to refine the African Continental Free Trade Agreement(AfCFTA) implementation plan.
According to the ministry, the improvement is meant to ensure the agreement’s effectiveness in alignment with national development goals.
AfCFTA was launched in January 2021 and aims to foster intra-African trade and create a single market for goods and services across the 54 African countries.
Consequently, Lesotho ratified the agreement thereby enabling the ministry to develop strategies for implementation of the agreement.
“It is against this backdrop that the ministry through the support of UNDP engaged a consultant to develop the national AfCFTA implementation plan,” the ministry said.
