The Central Bank of Lesotho (CBL) says all banks and merchants will be fully on localised Point of Sale (POS) by August 31, 2025.
In a statement, CBL stated that the pilot phase has now been successfully completed.
It noted that each participating bank will now begin engaging directly with their clients to support and complete full migration to the LeSwitch system.
“We encourage our customers to be on the lookout for further communication from their banks with specific steps or guidance related to this process,” the statement read.
According to CBL, this transition will ensure greater convenience, faster transactions, and an improved banking experience when one uses their debit card across any POS machine in Lesotho.
