VLF empowers persons with disabilities

The Vodacom Lesotho Foundation underscored its commitment to cultivating inclusive growth and economic independence for persons with disabilities on Wednesday this week by sponsoring a Disability Market Day.

The event was organised in collaboration with the United Nations in Lesotho and the Lesotho National Federation of Organisations of the Disabled (LNFOD).

This initiative is a cornerstone of the Vodacom Lesotho Foundation’s purpose to connect a better future, ensuring that connectivity, technology and economic opportunities are accessible to all, regardless of ability.

Speaking at the event, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Lesotho, Amanda Khozi Mukwashi, described the Market Day as a testimony to the disabled community’s talent and business acumen.

She noted that inclusion is not about charity, but economic justice and fundamental human rights.

On his part, LNFOD director, Rabasotho Moeletsi, said, “We are immensely grateful for this collaborative effort. Today is not just about selling products; it is about showcasing the remarkable creativity and skill that exists within our community. It’s a chance to build sustainable networks and connect directly with customers.”
