Road Fund to take over toll gate fee collection

The Road Fund will take over responsibility for toll gate fee collection and administration from Revenue Services Lesotho (RSL) with effective from 01 July 2026.

The two organisations announced in a joint media statement that the transfer aligns with the legislative framework under which the Road Fund is mandated to mobilise, manage and account for revenues dedicated to road maintenance and development.

The move is expected to consolidate collection, administration and customer service under one body, providing stakeholders with a single point of engagement on toll matters.

The statement said existing toll fee structures will remain in effect unless officially communicated otherwise by the Road Fund.

The organisations noted that they are working closely to ensure a smooth and orderly transition, with operational, technological and administrative arrangements being finalised ahead of the handover date.

RSL has administered toll gate fee collection since 2011.
