SADC oversight committee in Lesotho

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) Panel of Elders oversight committee will be in Lesotho from November 1 to 5, 2023 to access the country’s progress on national reforms.

According to a savingram from the foreign affairs and international relations ministry principal secretary Thabang Lekhela to the Clerk of the Senate, the mission will be led by Zambian president and chairperson of the SADC Organ Troika, Hakainde Hichilema.

Lekhela noted that the mission will have a consultation meeting with the president of the Senate, ‘Mamonaheng Mokitimi, on November 3 among others stakeholders.

The mission last visited Lesotho in August this year led by former Tanzanian president Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete.
