LNDC works on national brand signature song

By Matṧeliso Phulane

The Lesotho National Development Corporation (LNDC) has engaged local artists to produce a signature song that presentsthe spirit, values and patriotism of Basotho.

The LNDC in a weekend press release said the initiative is aimed at promoting Lesotho as an attractive investment and tourism destination.

The first phase of the project was a call for submission of video or voice recordings and the deadline was January 27, 2024.

Auditions are now in the second phase where artists from the country’s south, central and north regions are invited to perform at live auditions.

“It should however, be noted that due to few submissions from the southern and northern region, all artists from those regions are invited to the open auditions.

“In the case of the central region where there were more than enough submissions, only the top 10 artists will be performing live,” the statement noted.

One winner will emerge from each region and the winners will collaborate with prominent music groups to create a nationalbrand signature song.

The second phase of auditions takes placestoday in Quthing followed by tomorrow’s auditions to be held in Maseru and Botha Bothe.
