SDASA to hold Easter conference

By Neo Kolane

The Seventh Day Adventist Students Association (SDASA) will for the first time host a three-day a national students convention in Maseru during the Easter holidays.

SDASA is an organisation of students, professionals, academics, and business people of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church. It is registered as a non-profit organisation through the department of social development in South Africa.

The organisation was founded in 1967 and exists to empower students and mobilise professionals, academics, and business people for the benefit of the church and society.

SDASA Lesotho chapter leader, ‘Mamokobo Lebeko told theReporter this week that the conference is all about nurturing students, and finding out what students – especially Christians from the SDA churches – face in tertiary institutions.

Lebeko said it is common cause that these days there are many challenges; and it is difficult for children and students to stay out there independently and upright in the face of peer pressure.

“It is hard for them to stay grounded as Christian students in a secular environment; those are some of the things we are going to tackle.

“Secondly, we are going to talk about how students can prepare themselves for the world outside, considering that there is unemployment,” she noted.
