Get creative with the right tools!

Linaleli Greeting Cards ignites your artistic fire with their unbeatable art supply.

The business supplies both stationery and art essential such as googly eyes, chenille stems, pom-poms, paint, glitter, markers and many others.

Established in 2021, the business started off by making plantable paper which is basically recycled paper that is embedded with seeds. The paper can be planted and beautiful flowers, vegetables or herbs will grow.

However, there came an idea to branch into stationery and art supply to help parents source the right educational materials for their children, without the hassle of going to different stores.

In an interview with theReporter this week, the founder of Linaleli Greeting Cards, Lerato Moteane said, “We supply a wide range of art, basically what the schools need. We realised that there was a problem as parents struggled to find all the necessary learning materials for their children. There is a major shortage of art supply in Lesotho. Major stores only carry the basics, paint, play dough and glitter while we go over and beyond.

“We first noticed this in 2023 when a certain school had a Christmas project and parents were asked to buy glitter boards, googly eyes and chenille. They struggled to find these and therefore became very frustrated,” Moteane recalls.

She noted that their solution is to provide schools with the necessary materials for each grade so that parents do not have to run around mid-term for them.

“What sets our business apart from other businesses of this kind is that our prices are extremely competitive. We understand that parents have a lot going on with regards to tuition, uniform, lunch and extra-mural activities, this is one less item on their ever growing list of needs.

“This also helps schools focus on developing educational curriculums while run around finding the best products for their students at the very best price,” she indicated.

The company’s target market includes schools (students and their parents) and offices. They supply all school stationery, art supply and office stationery, it is a one stop shop.

Apart from that the business also supply a wide range of toilet paper products, serviettes and tissues.

Moteane said they have a broad list of suppliers to ensure that they give their customers the best prices possible without a hassle.

Speaking of the challenges she has encountered in her business Moteane said: “One of the biggest challenges is basically penetrating this new market of stationery supply and convincing new schools to partner with us. However, we believe that the positive feedback we are already getting will help us in the long run.

“Despite all that, one of our main goals was to make sure we have a broad list of suppliers and we have definitely achieved that,” she pointed out.

In conclusion, Moteane urged Basotho to break the cycle of overpriced school supplies by sending through their stationery lists and “we’ll get them quality products at a very competitive price”.
