DCEO requests declaration of assets

The Director on Corruption and Economic Offences (DCEO) has given procurement officers from all government ministries until November 29 2024 to file their declaration of assets.

This is contained in a letter the director general of DCEO, Knox Molelle, has written to the government secretary, Teboho ‘Mokela, yesterday.

“Your good office is requested to assist in the facilitation of the following: lists of all procurement staff in all ministries and departments, their positions and grades; declaration of assets by the mentioned officers. Electronic copy of the declaration form can be obtained on request from provided email.

“It should be noted that all ministries and departments are expected to comply with this notice, and it is responsibility of chief accounting officers to enforce compliance with this notice,”Molelle wrote.

He further warns that failure to provide required information within the stipulated period may result in legal action.

For her part, ‘Mokela has notified the office of ombudsman, auditor general, senior private secretary palace, clerk to the senate, clerk to the national assembly, registrar of the high court, all principal secretaries and IEC director of elections about the DCEO requirement.
