The Home Affairs Department says it is working flat out to address the challenges it is facing in issuing out national documents to the public.
The department has been encountering difficulties in processing passports, birth certificates, death certificates, and identification documents (ID) over the festive period.
In a statement yesterday, the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police said the delays were caused by a malfunctioning technical system.
“The government is making every effort to restore normalcy and has committed to expending the document issuing process once operations are back to normal.
“We’re determined to address the current delays and improve service to ensure that citizens access essential documents timeously,” it noted.
