RSL, LIA host nationwide tax literacy workshops

The Revenue Services Lesotho (RSL) in collaboration with the Lesotho Institute of Accountants (LIA) is conducting a nationwide series of tax literacy workshops, aimed at empowering tax payers with up to date information on tax compliance.

According to a statement from RSL, the workshops are designed to simplify the filing and payment process, ensuring full compliance with Lesotho’s tax laws.

In addition to guiding tax payers on how to accurately complete their income tax return forms, the sessions also introduce more convienient and flexible electronic filing options.

According to the statement, the workshops form part of RSL’s annual filing season campaign that commenced in April 28 to May 8 in Maseru district.

“The tax filing season, which runs annually from April 1 to June 30 requires all tax payers including individuals, small businesses and corporations to file their income tax returns and settle any tax due.

“This initiative reflects RSL’s continued commitment to fostering a culture of voluntary compliance by equipping Basotho with the practical knowledge needed to manage their tax obligations confidently and accurately,” the statement reads.

The sessions gave been held in all districts, targeting taxpayers from key economic sectors such as hospitality, construction, commercial property, professional services and other service providers including security, catering and car rentals.
