Journalists to receive training on gender-based discrimination in agriculture

The Transport Resource Centre (TRC) in partnership with the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) will host a workshop for journalists on Tuesday, focusing on ethical reporting of gender-based discrimination and women farmers’ rights violations in Lesotho’s agricultural sector.
The workshop aims to equip journalists with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively report on issues affecting women in agriculture, highlighting the importance of gender equality and women’s empowerment in the sector.
The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) supports small-scale, high-impact projects in developing countries, aligning with Global Affairs Canada’s thematic priority areas for engagement. This partnership with TRC underscores the CFLI’s commitment to advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment in Lesotho’s agricultural segment.
