Airport fire services restored

The Ministry of Transport and Public Works says fire services at Moshoeshoe I International Airport (MIA) have been restored, and looks forward to the resumption of flight services between Johannesburg and Maseru.

Airlink yesterday suspended services, until further notice, owing to lack of fire and rescue equipment at the airport.

In a statement today, the ministry noted that theairport’s fire truck had some technical problemsand the manufacture/supplier came to repair it from October 29-30, 2025.

“The service provider returned on November 5th to complete their work. Repairs were completed and the truck is now ready to operate as of today November 6,” the statement added.

“The ministry, therefore, informs the public that fire services at MIA have been restored to requisite category (6) and will communicate with Airlink accordingly.”
