Seinoli Legal Centre (SLC) will this week hold a two-day stakeholders conference on human rights and development.
The third annual conference commemorates International Human Rights Day. It also serves as a platform for inclusive dialogue, reflection, and strategic engagement on the intersection of development and human rights.
According to SLC, the meeting represents a strategic turning point in Lesotho’s pursuit of inclusive, rights-based development.
“This year, the conference moves from diagnoses and deliberation to operationalisation,” the organisation said in a statement.
Held annually on December 11 in commemoration of International Human Rights Day , the conference builds on the foundational work of the first and second meetings held in 2023 and 2024 respectively.
“These previous gatherings unearthed the human rights impacts of large-scale development projects, particularly the Lesotho Highlands Water Project, and proposed remedial strategies grounded in international human rights law,” SLC noted.
