CHE to host higher education fair

The Council on Higher Education (CHE) will hold the 11th edition of the Higher Education Fair on February 5-6, 2026 at the National Convention Centre.

The fair provides higher education institutions a platform to showcase their programme offerings and entry requirements.

CHE Chief Executive Officer, Moeketsi Letele, said the show will also enable prospective tertiary students to obtain necessary information on higher education in one place. Financiers will also be part of the event.

Letele noted that career guidance will also be provided to prospective tertiary students.

Local higher education institutions including the National University of Lesotho, Botho University, Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Lesotho College of Education, Lerotholi Polytechnic, National Health Training Centre, Scott College of Nursing, Roma College of Nursing, Maluti Adventist College, Paray College of Nursing,Institute of Development Management, Centre for Accounting Studies, Lesotho Agricultural College, Lesotho Boston Health Alliance (LeBoHA), Lesotho-China Collegiate, Machabeng College are expected to take part.

Letele said CHE has also invited colleges and universities from South Africa and Botswana, because many Basotho apply to study in these countries.

Further, there will be exhibitions running alongside career guidance sessions.

Letele indicated that CHE has invited experts in different fields to guide students on what is required to get into those professions and job opportunities available upon completing their studies.

Financiers such as the National Manpower Development Secretariat, American Embassy, Econet Higher Life Foundation, Vodacom Foundation and Letŝeng Diamond Mine will also be there to provide information on how students can access scholarships.

CHE has encouraged parents and guardians to accompany students and attend various career guidance sessions with them so that they can help them in deciding which programme to enroll in.

Higher education institutions will also get an opportunity to engage with captains of industry.

The purpose of this session is to provide a platform for the two sectors to explore possible areas of collaboration, including research, exchange programmes, financing, and internships for students.

“There will also be presentations by industry representatives, development partners, and higher education institutions,” Letele added.
