NUL honours top JFE outstanding achievers

The National University of Lesotho (NUL) has honoured 16 Master’s students for outstanding academic performance in the Joint Facility for Electives (JFE) assessments conducted by the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC).

JFE is a prestigious annual residential or virtual programme for Master’s students in Economics from collaborating African universities. It provides specialised elective courses, taught by international experts, to boost capacity in policy analysis and research.

The awards were presented on Friday by former Prime Minister, Dr Moeketsi Majoro.

The event highlighted the university’s commitment to academic excellence and its growing competitiveness across the region.

Addressing the award recipients, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Associate ProfessorRegina Thetsane encouraged them to remain focused, dedicated, and resilient as they pursue greater success in their academic and professional journeys.

The recognition comes as NUL celebrates a significant milestone, having secured second place among Category A universities under the African Economic Research Consortium. This achievement underscores the institution’s strengthening reputation for excellence in higher education, particularly within the field of economics.
