The office of the Prime Minister has resolved not to renew the contracts of the current principal secretaries upon their expiry.
A statement issued by the office on Friday says the appointment of new principal secretaries will be based on their competencies and their relevance to the targets of government between now and the next general elections in 2022.
The renewal of contracts will be motivated by an individual principal secretary’s proven track record.
