World Vision celebrates World Water Day

By Kefiloe Kajane

In a build up towards commemorating World Water Day later this month, World Vision Lesotho has organized a training workshop based on a manual named Jesus: Source of Living Water, to be held at Thaba Bosiu Cultural Village on March 16 -19.

In a statement released today, World Vision Lesotho says the purpose of the workshop is to build a pool of faith leaders knowledgeable in the Jesus Source of Living Water model, and how it relates to the importance of water availability for the general wellbeing of children and their communities.

It says the model teaches about the importance of water in the existence of every living thing, which is the reason that drives World Vision to ensure that every child, household, health facility receives clean and sustainable water sanitation and hygiene.

“World Water Day is an annual United Nations day that highlights the importance of fresh water. It is used to advocate for the sustainable provision and management of fresh water resources. This year’s theme is ‘Valuing Water’. This focus will extend beyond the issues of pricing to include the environmental, social, and cultural value people place on water.

“We partner with children, their families and communities to help them reach their full potential by tackling the root causes of poverty and injustices in Lesotho, and making sure that all children participate in the decisions that affect them,” the organisation said.
