Rapper’s high hopes for his city

By Neo Kolane

Rapper, song writer Rizzy Ray recently released a track titled ‘MSU City to 014’ featuring Zooano on Sunday.

Born Reamohetsoe Joseph Tlooko is currently based in Gauteng.

Hailing from Tsoapo-le-Bolila in Maseru, Reezy said that this is the first song in which he expresses a desire to put the city of Maseru on the global map.

Known more by his stage name, Rizzy Ray narrated that ‘MSU city to 014’ means Maseru city to Rustenburg because he attended school in Rustenburg. After matriculation he went back home for almost a year and later returned to Rustenburg. On his arrival he met an old friend from high school by the name of Tshireletso Rantsimele.

“As artists we thought we could compose some songs in music production industry. I had already thought of a beat and I decided to compose a song about my return to the place.. Originally I come from Maseru. That song was to tell people that I was back,” he said.

Reezy Ray is also a brand ambassador and a photographer.

The rapper told theReporter that he strictly does Hip-Hop music, adding that his songs are inspired by his mood. He also composes some songs from his observation of the environment.

The track is going to be available on slikouronlife and sound cloud.

Besides doing music, Reezy Ray does not have a specific job but he gets temporary employ for financing his music production.

The 21 year old started doing music in 2014, that is when he decided to write his own lyrics and songs and officially concluded that he is a rapper.

He released his very first song in 2015 titled ‘Let’s hope so’ and people loved it.

“I am an independent artist for now and I think I want to remain independent and have my own record label. I am pushing my own brand ‘racks to riches’ which will later be my record label, and I think the biggest thing I want to do is to be the first hip hop artist from Lesotho to be signed in the United States,” he said.
