Govt finally takes over QMMH

By Kefiloe Kajane

Queen ‘Mamohato Memorial Hospital (QMMH) staff were today introduced to the new management that will run the hospital. The team will be led by Dr Chale Moji as the managing director.

This after the minister of health Semano Sekatle announced last week that from August 1, the government of Lesotho is officially taking over operations at QMMH.

Speaking to the staff, Dr Moji said all he wants is for everyone to work as a team. He said the staff should prioritise Basotho and work with commitment.

He indicated that many people always say Basotho cannot lead, but the team should prove those people wrong and make the hospital one of the best.

“I thank the ministry of health for this opportunity and I hope that we are all going to work perfectly together,” Dr Moji said.

The outgoing director of T’sepong, Professor Lehlohonolo Mosotho said the staff of QMMH is still Tsepong’s responsibility mostly the salaries, until August 31.

He said Tsepong is still in talks with the ministry of health to ensure a smooth transition.
