Sing along, Cleopatra is in the house!

By Neo Kolane

New kid on the block Relebohile Molieleng is a singer and songwriter with a lot of confidence in her vocal prowess which, she proudly proclaims, stands out and sets her apart from other singers.

Having first shown glimpses of a brilliant singer at the age of two, the 20-year old dreamer believes there is a lot of self-doubt among potential vocalists, which has led to the glaring dearth of local artists who are willing to do whatever it takes to see their dreams through.

“I hope that one day all local artists will understand that without them there is no show.

“Artists deserve every little thing they ask for from event organisers,” she said.

A driven person by nature, Relebohile explained that she cannot confidently say she is music but hopefully one day she will be able to describe herself as music.

She added saying that with experience and hard work she will get there.

The final year public relations student tells theReporter that her approach to writing is very emotive, regardless of the style of music she does.

The Khubetsoana-born and bred lass disclosed that she recorded her first single in 2017 which saw her introducing herself into the music industry with a bang.

“I would like to describe myself as a versatile artist, so I think I can do any genre, be it RnB, Soul, trap soul, Amapiano and Afro pop.

“I am an up and coming artist and there are not any big shows I have done as yet, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I’ll get there,” she said.

Relebohile refers to herself as ‘Cleopatra’ because she is a ‘queen’ and that what’s she embodies.

“In 2020 I entered a competition powered by KFC; it was a singer/songwriter’s competition and the winner was going to record KFC’s jingle with Ntate Stunna. I came in second place,” she revealed.
