Tṧiu Khang is a young and brave Sotho Kids Agency model who did not allow to be discouraged or let anything to restrain him.
In an interview with theReporter, this week Khang said he grew up in the community where most of the people thought modelling is meant for females only but thought of giving it a try.
“Growing up I had confidence issues which therefore became the barrier for me to believe in myself and everything I did. However, my brother always told me I would make a great model but he thought I am too short for being one,” he said.
Khang indicated that he knew about Sotho Kids Agency after recognition of their audition poster and suddenly researched about it and applied.
“I had instantly fell in love with it more especially because it revives our culture and reminds us exactly who we are and where we come from as Basotho nation.
“Besides that, I love culture and also being a model, so Sotho Kids is the culture agency that accommodates everyone including short people who wish to be models. I therefore enjoy being part of Sotho Kids model agency,” he explained.
Khang is a 23 year-old born and bred at Ha Chepeseli in Leribe district. He went to Soofia International School in Botha-Bothe and completed his Lesotho General Certificate of Education.
Besides modelling, he is a photographer at Kasi Kota and always available for bookings.
In conclusion, Khang said he aims to inspire boys and convince them that they can as well do modelling. He encourages them to avoid having the mind-set that modelling is meant specifically for a women and girls.
In the next five years he said he wants to see himself as the most recognised model in the world, promoting the Basotho culture in particular.
